2019: The Year of Transitions
As this year is coming to an end and I look back at our photos I can't help but feel joy and gratefulness. We saw more of God's creation in this world, experienced other cultures, said some difficult goodbyes and some heartfelt hellos. All in all, it seems as though this year has just been one transition after another. Just 3 days into 2019 we were surprised with the early arrival of William, thus setting off our transition to a family of 5! Shortly after that we began wrapping up our time in England and preparing for our big move. Transitioning from our house in England, to a temporary house in England, to my parents house, to John's parents house, back to my parents, to friends, back to my parents again, to a hotel in Canada and finally to our permanent house in Ottawa. With all that transitioning comes difficult times- saying goodbye to the only home the boys knew, saying goodbye to friends who had become family. And while the boys were certainly troopers through all of this they definitely had their limits, as we all do. Through it all though we were reminded that God is constant, unchanging and that our ultimate home is with him in heaven. That he holds our future in his hands and that he already knew what was in store for us- our house, neighborhood, schools, etc. Nothing was a surprise to him, nothing ever could be. He knew all of these things would happen and where we would end up.
