1. Ben was badly injured during our hotel stay that resulted in a trip to the ER and having a cut glued. About a week later he woke up with a swollen face. God's Goodness: Ben's infection was caught in time and thanks to modern medicine he's healed.
2. I have been so nervous (and still am) about Jack's transition to school. Will he make good friends? Will he adjust to the longer days and possibly no naps? Will he be ok? Will he thrive? God's Goodness: Jack's principal used to live in London so she is very familiar with the school system he came from as well as the culture. He is also in a small class and seems to be enjoying himself. Today at drop off I lingered a few minutes and he turned around and said, "Mio, leave." Of course it stung a bit, but I'm glad he's adjusting.
3. Things have been a little crazy at the house since we have minimal supplies and some safety projects to tackle. God's Goodness: We have been blessed with the BEST neighbors. On our first day, Ms. Jody brought over some groceries for us. She told us that her husband was in the Canadian military so they moved around a lot. She knows where we're coming from! And she's lived in the US as well as the UK! It was just such a comfort and unexpected kindness. Since then her husband has lent John tools and a helping hand. Last night she brought over a giant tub of train tracks for the boys to use until our shipment comes. And bonus! She has 2 college aged children who babysit!
I'm sure there are more but these are the ones that caused me to pause and give thanks for the Good Father we have while this Chris Tomlin song just kept running through my head.
